About Khaled Takreti
Khaled Takreti (b. 1964, Beirut) is a Syrian artist celebrated for reimagining the possibilities of contemporary portraiture. Trained in architecture at the University of Damascus, he transitioned to painting in the mid-1990s, developing a distinctive visual language that interweaves personal stories with reflections on modern society. His large-scale canvases, marked by a striking Pop sensibility, reveal the nuanced psychology of his subjects while showcasing his sophisticated sense of composition and design.
Since moving to Paris in 2004, Takreti has exhibited extensively around the world. His work is represented in prominent collections, including the Syrian National Museum, the Jordanian National Gallery of Fine Arts, and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha. His innovative approach has left an enduring imprint on a new generation of contemporary Arab artists.
About Galerie Nadine Fattouh
The Nadine Fattouh gallery has always cultivated a discreet and privileged relationship with its artists and collectors, providing a space for exchanges around contemporary creation. Joined by Basel Jbaily in 2022, the gallery's special, but not exclusive, focus on Middle Eastern art will be accentuated.
Our primary mission is to bring young talents into dialogue with historic figures or those of international stature, all chosen for the quality of their work and their ability to develop narratives that are likely to touch us, if not overwhelm us. We are convinced that the primary role of art is to summon the emotion that enables us to broaden our horizons.
That's why we attach such importance to supporting our artists over the long term and building relationships of trust with them. From the first solo show to an exhibition in a cultural institution, we do everything we can to help each artist gain visibility. With this aim in mind, the Nadine Fattouh gallery is developing a scientific and curatorial approach, publishing catalogues and increasing its exchanges with the institutional circles of the art eco-system.
