About PAB / Aguiar-Branco Gallery
For over three decades, PAB / Aguiar-Branco Gallery has specialized in artworks emerging from Portugal’s Age of Exploration, a period that shaped global history through cultural exchange and artistic fusion. Originally founded by Pedro Aguiar-Branco and now led by his son, Diogo Aguiar-Branco, the gallery is dedicated to showcasing kunstkammer objects from the 15th to 18th centuries—pieces that embody the encounters between civilizations and the sharing of knowledge.
The gallery’s collection includes rare and exquisite works crafted from mother-of-pearl, tortoiseshell, coral, ivory, rock crystal, lacquer, porcelain, and precious metals. These objects, born from the first wave of globalization, reflect not only technical mastery and luxury but also the human desire to collect, connect, and preserve the stories behind each piece.
Through its carefully curated selection, Aguiar-Branco Gallery continues to celebrate the artistic and historical significance of this extraordinary period. 19 rue de beaune
