About Costermans
Founded in 1839, Costermans Gallery is one of Europe’s oldest art-dealing dynasties, now led by Arnaud Jaspar Costermans, the fifth generation at its head. The gallery is housed in the heart of Brussels within a prestigious Neoclassical Hôtel Particulier—the historic Hôtel du Chastel—a landmark building dating back to 1780 and listed as part of the city’s architectural heritage.
Costermans has long been renowned for its exceptional selection of European furniture and decorative arts from the 17th to the early 19th century, with a particular emphasis on 18th-century French decorative arts. The gallery showcases major names such as André-Charles Boulle, Nicolas Sageot, Léonard Boudin, Pierre Migeon, and other celebrated craftsmen.
In 2012, Arnaud expanded the family legacy by opening an exclusive gallery dedicated to Old Masters paintings. His expertise centers on Flemish and Dutch works from the 16th to the 18th century, featuring remarkable pieces from the Brueghel lineage, as well as works by Van Dyck, Van der Ast, Neeffs, Bosschaert, and many other esteemed artists.
Beyond his role at the gallery, Arnaud Jaspar Costermans serves as Vice-President of BRAFA Art Fair, sits on the board of directors of ROCAD and SNA, and is affiliated with CINOA.
